Eartha - Oak Tree Village

Eartha planned a spaghetti dinner meet and greet dinner this past week for her residents at Oak Tree Village; not only did her clients get the opportunity to have a delicious meal with their friends and neighbors, but they also got to meet and get to know Eartha as she steps into the role of being the property's FSS coordinator. We're so glad that Eartha is a part of our team!

Whitney - Parkway Village

Whitney's youngest residents recently had the chance to get outside and get better acquainted with nature! She wrote, "Residents recently had the opportunity to participate in an engaging planting workshop led by Project Grows. During the visit, representatives shared information about Project Grows’ mission and the important role the organization plays in supporting our community through healthy food access, education, and sustainable agriculture.

Participants explored the life cycle of plants, learned the basics of gardening, and discovered sustainable growing practices that can be used at home and in community gardens. The workshop concluded with a fun, hands-on planting activity, giving residents the chance to apply what they learned and start growing plants of their own."

Lucia - Ashburn Chase

As always, Lucia prioritizes bringing fun and education to Ashburn Chase! She reported, "Our Summer Camp continues to be a tremendous success, providing a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children in our community. This year, we proudly introduced our first-ever Soccer Social in partnership with Play "N" Kick Soccer Club, giving youth the opportunity to learn from a professional soccer coach while building teamwork and confidence. Over the past three weeks, students have enjoyed creative arts, STEM activities, Splash Day, team-building games, and other hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and friendship.

This year's camp has been especially meaningful as more families remained in the community during the summer due to increased travel costs. Our program has provided over 22 children with structured activities while supporting working parents.

We are also serving breakfast and healthy snacks and cold juices throughout week, helping ensure every child is nourished and ready to participate.

I personally extend my sincere gratitude to Prime for investing over $1,000 in our summer program, making it possible to offer quality activities, including our professional soccer experience with Play "N" Kick Soccer Club.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our Maintenance Technician, Erick, whose ongoing support has helped make this year's summer camp a success.

She shared of her recent Independence Day event, "As part of our July 4th festivities, and in addition to our ongoing Summer Camp activities, we paused to celebrate America 250 with a fun-filled Pancakes & Eggs Trivia Breakfast Show. Camp participants enjoyed a delicious breakfast while taking part in engaging trivia about American history, patriotic traditions, and the significance of this historic milestone. The celebration provided a wonderful opportunity for students to learn, laugh, and build community in a welcoming environment. It was a memorable morning that combined education, fellowship, and festive fun as we continue creating meaningful summer experiences for our youth."
